| Penrose Pleasure Drive |
On Sunday, 26th October the Southern Highlands Carriage Driving Club hosted a Pleasure Drive in Penrose Forest. I asked my neighbour, Carol, if she would like to come on it with me, this was to be her maiden drive and she agreed.
The weather was wonderful, a warm and bright sunny day and the meeting place terrific with plenty of easy parking, shade and good toilets (always a necessity).
We were given the option of a long or shorter route and as my pony Llewy hadn’t done a great deal of work lately we went for the shorter. The drive was up and down quite steep hills complete with a creek crossing, which is a challenge to Llew but one we are starting to get over.
The event drew quite a good number including another BCDC member Bronwyn Pratt, so it seems others beside me enjoy pleasure drives. Many thanks to Warren and his club for organising it and the gift of carrots was a lovely touch.
Carol is now hooked and is going to come on the next drive! |
